Forest Heritage Days 2008 will soon be here!

Friday Events -

Bus Tour

This year we will be returning to our ever-popular woodlot bus tour. The currently proposed tour will take us from "Big Squaw" Mountain, to Shirley, to Frenchtown and back to Lily Bay where we will enjoy a picnic lunch and presentation in the Lily Bay Storehouse. While in the Lily Bay area, we will also visit current and former deer yards. Watch this space for more details as we get closer to August!

Exhibits & Demonstrations

Colby Woodsmen Team Exhibition of old-time logging skill.

BBQ Dinner

After a full day of tours and exhibits, sit down and enjoy a BBQ dinner.

Sunset Cruise
Can't imagine a better way to end the day than with a sunset cruise aboard the steamship Katahdin! This year we will enjoy the sounds of local balladeers as we cruise the southern waters of Moosehead.

Saturday Events -

FHD Saturday events

Saturday's events are focused around the Game of Logging! Added to our annual celebration about 14 years ago, this yearly competition showcases the incredible skills of some pretty amazing certified professional loggers!

Between competitions, be sure to stop by the gymnasium where over 40 crafters and woods products exhibits will be showcased.
Jake Maier has graciously granted us permission to share some of his photos from the 2007 logging events. Click on
